Frequently Asked Questions

Microblading

What is the eyebrow microblading?

Microblading is a manual technique by which we design perfect eyebrows by drawing hair by hair according to the face of your face. It is made with a very fine tip instrument, called tebori, in the epidermis, which is the most superficial layer of the skin. That is, it is not done in a deep way such as a tattoo. That’s why the microblading is semi permanent.

What is the difference between microblading and micropigmentation?

The microblading is done manually with a very fine tip instrument called tebori, which allows the drawing of the hairs on the skin to be perfectly sharp and defined one by one. Micropigmentation also, but it is done with an electric machine.

The microblading is done in the epidermis, which is the most superficial layer of the skin, so the result is semi-permanent and you can revise the design every year to adapt it to the state of your physiognomy. The pigments of the microblading are minerals, the skin will absorb them progressively months after (lasts about 8-12 months).

The micropigmentation takes place in deeper layers of the skin, that’s why it lasts longer. The pigments usually contain metal.

Why do we do it semi-permanent instead of permanently?

Because it is not advisable to get tattoos or anything permanent on the face since the skin changes over time and the design that favors you today may not do so after a few years if your skin experiences sagging, if you abuse botox or you become a facelift.

It’s always better to touch up than regret ?

Will I have a hair-by-hair effect?

Yes, microblading is a technique that is done by drawing each hair, one by one. However, you should know that there are skins that do not retain the pigment well, such as oily, porous or diabetic skin. In these cases it may happen that after a while the pigment expands and the definition get diffuses. It doesn’t mean that it will be ugly but simply that the separation between the hairs would be less appreciated and the hair-to-hair effect would be blurred. If this were your case, you probably need to touch up the microblading before the year, possibly in the first 6 months. The price of the extra touch-up in these cases is € 50.

In case you already had tattooed or micropigmented eyebrows we can not guarantee that the hair-to-hair effect will be completely clear since it is not a clean skin. We will try to make it the best possible, but you should consider that we start from a skin already pigmented and probably shaded.

For whom is microblading recommended?

Anyone who wants to improve the appearance of their eyebrows. However, it is especially recommended for people who want to redefine their brows, fill the gaps or fix them after a bad waxing or after having undergone some medical treatment.

Can everybody get microbladed?

This technique can be performed in both women and men, regardless of their age and skin color.

However, you should know that it is not recommended in the following cases.

Cases in which it is not advisable to perform microblading if it is not under medical authorization:

If you suffer from any of these cases we will not be able to perform the microblading technique without a medical authorization:

– Diabetes
– Hemophilia
– Cardiopathy
– HIV carriers
– Hepatitis B and C carriers
– Immunosuppressed

Cases in which microblading is not possible under any circumstances:

If the area to be treated is in any of the following situations it will not be possible to perform microblading:

– Freckles and moles
– Queloides
– Thickened angiomas
– Warts
– Melanomas
– Psoriasis
– Urticaria
– Skin cancer

Situations in which it is not possible to apply microblading temporarily:

– If you are pregnant.
–  If you had botox in the area of brows in the previous 2 days.
–  If you have immunological deficit.
– If you recently had a surgical intervention.
– If you are under treatment of chemotherapy or radiotherapy.
– If you have a local or general infection by bacteria, fungi or viruses.
– If you have a non-stabilized scar, a recent burn, an ulcer or a bruise on the eyebrows.

If you are in any of these cases we will have to wait until the situation has passed to be able to perform microblading.

Is the result of microblading immediate?

Yes, but you should be aware that during the first 4-5 days your eyebrows will look a little darker because the pigment is fresh. You shouldn’t scare or worry because this will not be the final tone. In the course of a week they will progressively clarify until they reach the final tone.

3 weeks after you will have a second session (included in the price) for review and retouch your eyebrows

Is it necessary to touch it?

Yes because since the third or fourth day you will notice that the color loses intensity, especially in the case of skins with greater sebaceous secretion. Do not worry, it’s normal, that’s why you have 2 sessions. The second one should be done 3 weeks after to review and retouch everything again. In this second session the skin will absorb and retain the pigment much better.
In case you need an extra touch-up after the second session, the cost would be 50€.

How long does the microblading last?

The microblading lasts approximately between 8 and 12 months, depending on the type of skin of each person. The tone of the pigment slowly lightens over the course of the months, but there won’t be a degradation to a gray or reddish tone.

If in your case it is necessary to retouch the microblading in 6 months, the price  would be 50€.

The retouching fee after 6 months is 100€. After one year and a half, the price will be 150€ and it will include 2 sessiones again.

Can I go just for doing my design and see if I like it?

We do the design on the day of your session and not before because doing the visagism takes a little while since we measure your features and we draw in pencil the design that suits you best due to your measurements.

Should I pluck my eyebrows before I go?

No, you better come without touching your eyebrows. We take care of it 🙂

Will you remove the hair from my eyebrows?

Absolutely. If you have hair, the microblading or micropigmentation that we do will be even more natural for you. We will only pluck the hairs that are left over, that is, those that are out of the design.

Will it be very striking just finished?

Absolutely. Just finished, it looks as natural as you see in the before and after photos that we publish on our facebook and instagram profile (find us as Miradas Wonder). There is neither wound nor inflammation, if perhaps a slight redness of the skin that will disappear after a little while. What you have to know is that the first days the color of the pigment will be more intense, but the intensity will decrease in the following days.

Cases in which we combine with microshading:

The microshading methodology consists in painting micro dots instead of strokes as we do in the microblading. The result is therefore similar to shading.

We combine both techniques in these specific cases:

  • If you have a very oily or complicated type of skin because it does not retain well the pigment and the strokes hair by hair you will soon fade.
  • If some time ago you tattooed your eyebrows or did permanent micropigmentation and you want to correct a bit the design they did but it is not possible to do it with microblading because you already have a very intense base color.
  • If you want to achieve a higher density effect.

How long does it take?

Approximately  1h 30min:

15min with the anesthetic cream,
20min doing the the visagism and measurements
1hour the performance of the microblading / microshading

Does it hurt?

Do not worry, we will apply an anesthetic cream in the area of the eyebrows to avoid any discomfort during the process. If you notice something, it would be a sensation similar to waxing.

Can it cause any type of allergy or reaction?

To rule out a possible reaction, we will do an allergy test 24-48 hours before performing the microblading. This test is simple and quick. We will put a drop of the pigment behind the ear. If your skin doesn’t react in 24 hours we can be sure that the microblading is suitable for you.

Do I have to follow any recommendation before microblading?

These are our tips:

  • It is not advisable to perform microblading during menstruation days because the skin is usually more sensitive.
  • Do not take medications Aspirin or any vasodilatador medication 24 hours before, unless your doctor tells you to do it.
  • Avoid stimulants such as alcohol, coffee or tea, as they may increase the sensitivity of the skin.
  • You shouldn’t wet your brows for a couple of days, so if you have to wash your hair we recommend you to do it before coming to do the microblading.
  • Do not have Botox during the previous 48 hours.

What further care should I follow?

  • During the first 10 days you should clean your eyebrows with saline or micellar water and then apply a thin layer of Bepanthol cream for a proper healing.
  • Do not scratch or rub the small scrabs that may appear.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure during the first 15 days.
  • Use 50 factor sunscreen.
  • Avoid wetting the treated area in pools until the skin is completely cured to avoid possible infections the first seven days.
  • We also do not recommend going to saunas during the first week, because a high level of sweating can degrade the color of the pigment.
  • Do not use creams with hyaluronic acid, vitamin C or retinoic acid on microblading.
  • For botox or microdermabrasion treatments, you must wait a month.

Can I take my pet or my children to the salon?

If for any reason you see that you will not be able to attend your appointment you must notify us at least 12 hours in advance (and do so from 10am to 20pm) so that we can notify another person interested in coming. In this case there would be no problem, we will change your appointment to another day and time that suits you and you will not lose the 50€ that you left when you booked your appointment.

On the other hand, if you don’t show up the day and time of your appointment and you don’t notify us, the deposit of the 50€ that you left to block your appointment in the agenda would not be returned.

If this happens on the day of your retouch, you will have to pay 50 € extra for a new appointment. We do this way because we can’t loose the work hour.

Eyeliner

How do you do the delineation of the eyeliner?

It consists of drawing the line of the eye contour in a semi-permanent way so that you won’t need to draw it daily anymore. We can do it on the upper and lower eyelids, or just in one of them.

Can it be done to everybody?

It can be done on anyone regardless of their age and skin color. However, you should know that it is not recommended to be done in pregnant women or in people who are taking anticoagulant drugs, people with keloids on the area or people who suffer from psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, hemophilia, hepatitis or HIV. If you have diabetes or thyroid you should know that the pigment can be degraded sooner.

Is it painful?

Don’t worry, before starting we will apply an anesthetic cream in the area to avoid any discomfort during the process.

A retouch will be necessary?

During the first days you might notice that the color is losing intensity, especially in the case of skins with greater sebaceous secretion. Do not worry, it’s normal, that’s why you have included a free retouch a month after to review everything again. In this second session the skin will absorb and retain the pigment much better.

How long does it take to do it?

About an hour and a half.

How long does the result last?

Several years, it will depend on your skin type, whether it is dry or very oily. The tone of the pigment will slowly clear up during the course of time.

Could I choose the color?

Although the black pigment is the most demanded, we can also do it in blue or green.

Could it cause any type of allergy or reaction?

To rule out a possible reaction, we will do an allergy test 24-48 hours before performing the micropigmentation. This test is simple and quick. If my eyes get a little swollen, how long will the swelling last?

Don’t worry, the inflammation you may experience will be mild and temporary. Normally, your eyes will swell a little after the session, but it should not last more than a few hours. Lip Micropigmentation

What is lip micropigmentation?

Lip micropigmentation is a facial treatment for defining the contour of the mouth and improving the tone of the lips. The result is a more beautiful, symmetrical and defined lips without having to outline them with makeup daily.

Is micropigmentation the same as a tattoo?

No. A tattoo is permanent because of the type of pigments used and because it is done in deeper layers of the skin.

Micropigmentation is semi-permanent and is done with mineral pigments. This means that the color does not change as often happens with tattoos. It will gradually fade, so to maintain the effect it will be necessary to do a touch-up every so often.

How is this technique done?

To perform lip micropigmentation, we work with a dermograph with which we deposit the pigment on the lip mucosa and around the mouth. But first, we do the design in pencil so you can see how it would look on you and we try different colors to see which one suits you best.

For whom is lip micropigmentation recommended?

Lip micropigmentation is perfect for you if you want to beautify your lips, give them color and keep them beautiful 24 hours a day without having to outline them with a pencil daily.

It is also ideal for people who want to correct any asymmetry or modify and balance their lip shape so that they are equal on both sides, because in many cases there is a difference in height or thickness.

And it is also ideal for people who want to achieve the effect of greater volume but in a very natural way and without injectable products.

In which cases is not possible do it?

Lip micropigmentation cannot be performed if you have vitiligo in the lip area because, being a melanin disorder, the pigments can change to unwanted tones.

Neither if you have cold sores on the lips or in the gums. In this case you have to wait until it has healed and completely disappeared.

Nor if you are pregnant, if you have taken Zitron in the last 24 hours, if you are being treated with anticoagulant or vasodilator drugs, undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy, if you have an immune deficiency, vitiligo, cold sores, hematoma, burns recent ulcers, bacterial, fungal or viral infections, unstabilized scars, psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, keloids, enlarged angiomas, warts, melanomas, impetigo, psoriasis, urticaria, chloasma, nevus or skin cancer), if you have hemophilia, hepatitis or HIV, or if you had a recent infiltration (up to 2 months before) of hyaluronic acid in the lips.

You should know that the components of our anesthesia are lidocaine, tetracycline, epinephrine and sodium metabisulfite. If you are allergic to any of them, you should notify us.

What if I usually suffer from cold sores on the lips?

If you usually suffer from cold sores, or had it occasionally, it is very likely that it will reappear after performing lip micropigmentation. It would be a normal reaction but to avoid it we recommend taking acyclovir 5 days before and 3 days after, unless your doctor indicates another treatment.

How long does lip micropigmentation last?

It depends on each person according to their type of skin and labial mucosa, but usually lasts a long time. A touch-up will be needed approximately 2 years after in order to maintain the intensity of the color. For some people it may not be necessary to touch up until even later.

How long does it take to do it?

Approximately 2 hours.

Dos it hurt?

It is true that the area around the lips is one of the most sensitive, but don’t worry because we work with a powerful anesthetic cream that is specially made for us.

We put the cream 20 minutes before start working to anesthetize the skin.

There are people who hardly feel anything and others, on the other hand, are more sensitive, but the sensation would be in any case a completely bearable nuisance.

The technique and the material used have changed and improved a lot since the last years, therefore, the memory of a painful experience that many people may have does not correspond to what lip micropigmentation is today.

Is it necessary to touch it up?

Yes, you should come one month later.

After that you should do a retouch approximately 2 years after. Some people need the retouch even later.

How are the lips just finished micropigmentation?

After finished the session, the lips are temporarily swollen and it can last a few hours or even a few days, but don’t panic, it’s a normal reaction.

During the first days the color will be more intense. It won’t be the definitive color.

When the skin begins to heal (2 or 3 days after micropigmentation) it will begin to expel a lot of pigment and a micro scab will form which, when it falls off, will give the impression that your lips have parts without color. This phase usually lasts one week. After approximately 15-20 days you will see that the tone begins to unify and stabilize. However, you will have to do a touch-up after a month to achieve the correct fixation and the desired intensity of the pigment tone.

In what colors can it be done?

Our suggestion is to opt for those colors that are more similar to your original lip because, in this case, the result will be very natural and beautiful. We do not recommend doing it in intense colors such as red, fuchsia or orange because you may end up getting tired of seeing your lips in a very striking color all the time.

What about if I already had micropigmentation or a tattoo done elsewhere and it didn't turn out well?

To confirm if it is possible for us to improve it, it is essential to see you first.
Please call us at 637 414 714 and we will give you an appointment without obligation.
